Medic asked:

Much like the “Fat-Free” era of the 90’s there are many products that are claiming to be better for the environment. Most of the time they are more expensive, but how does the average consumer really know that the products they are paying more for, are really better for the environment? From light bulbs, to cars, to paper there really isn’t a single major company that does not have some type of eco-friendly product on the shelf. Is there some sort of rating system (or something) for the average consumer, which will let the them know which companies have really gotten on board the environmental friendly production of goods, and which companies are just pretending?

The areas that are eco friendly there will discover nice common ground that should suit your needs.
The areas that like then research the products that should suit your needs.
