A lot of the skills that used to be used are very eco friendly. Do you have any of these eco friendly skills? Do you still use them?
I am thinking about the old skills which used things they had to hand, because they grew locally or used recycled materials such as:
bottling, jam making and preserving
willow items, baskets, lampshades
coppicing, drystone walling
curing meats and skins
making home prepartions for toiletries, medicines
making carts, buggies, trailers,
making own gardening implements/tools
bee keeping, making beeswax products
rag rug making, darning - who can darn now?

Nominated for several Grammys, she owns her own record label - Righteous Babe Records-and now her own performance venue in her home State, New York. Ani was recently on NPR’s World Café, Jay Leno, and the cover of Mothering Magazine. Ani is a self-proclaimed feminist, participated in the march for women’s lives in Washington DC in 2004 and was the first musician to be honored with the “Woman of Courage Award” by the National Organization of Women in 2006. Lately,I have invested a lot of thoughts on global warming issues. I’m equaly concerned, but i just don’t know whether I can give any significant support.
For instance, normal citizens like me cannot afford a hybrid car. I would be indebted to save the world..
Furthermore, i wish I could buy all the eco-friendly products in the shops, but they are also priced higher for average people’s budget.
Is it wrong to think that the bigger responsibility should start with the world leaders and corprorations? We normal citizens buy what we get. i say why can’t govts ban any environmentally hazardous consumation?But wait, I know that this could cripple many economies and plummet unemployment, and it’s not everybody who can produce cost effectively for eco-friendly products. Of course,money plays a role here, and who’s willing to invest more cash in R&D.
But until the big powers step up, I’m sorry i can”t be much help. Anybody out there who shares my view point ?
Or if anybody think otherwise, enlighten me…

I have a product design exam coming up, and its somthing to do with eco-friendly’ness and furniture. So i was wondering what different ways are there of “attaching parts” not using screws and bolts.. and can u get any enviromently glues?? that are water proof and reli strong?

Are all aveda products eco friendly? I read at care2 that there mascara is good but what about there skincare and hair products? Do they have lots of chemicals? Or is it all plant based? If you can could you please write in your answer the ingredients of some of there products. I’m interested in the hair detoxifier, smooth infusion style prep smoother, mascara and acne skin care. Also let me know what you think of there products.

A lot of people argue that buying organic, ECO friendly products coasts more. And there for they don’t want to spend the little extra, even though it is a better quality.
Do you think the more people buy ECO friendly, the more it becomes main stram, and thus the price will go down. Or will it stay the same ?

Smells give ne migraines, so i’m looking for a multi purpose cleaning spray that doesn’t smell.
Lots of people recommend eco friendly products, but some of these still smell.
Can anyone suggest anything that will clean my kitchen surfaces, but won’t give me a headache.
